Rigolet Salmon Festival
A Rigolet Tradition
The Rigolet Salmon Festival is an annual event which is usually held the first weekend in August. The festivities occur alongside the Net Loft Museum, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather and beautiful scenery.
The Festival is one of the most popular events for this Inuit community and starts off with a parade and opening ceremonies. Throughout the week there are various events for all ages, games for kids and adults including Step Dancing, Square Dancing, Strong Man/Women competition, Fear Factor challenge for ages 16+ and entertainment throughout the day. End the festival with a community feast of traditionally prepared salmon and closing ceremonies.
Catch the ferry from Goose Bay on Friday night and be in Rigolet Saturday morning for the main events.
